What to Know About the Lucha Libre Star

Hailing from Tijuana, Mexico, Rey Horus is a wrestling veteran of the mat and skies alike. He’s also a wrestler with high expectations set upon him, which comes as no surprise given that he was once known as El Hijo de Rey Misterio, or “The Son of Rey Misterio.” Horus was trained by Rey Misterio Sr., the uncle of current WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio. Since beginning his pro wrestling career in September 2007, he has made his mark across multiple organizations. He began wrestling primarily in his home country but he would soon see international fame, largely due to his involvement on the platforms mentioned earlier.

Many wrestling fans first became familiar with Rey Horus during his time on Lucha Underground. Since then, however, he’s wrestled everywhere from MLW to New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Most recently, he had been working in Ring of Honor, where he found allies in Flamita and Bandido; together, the trio was known as The MexiSquad. They would go on to capture the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship in January 2020, holding the gold for a record-setting 405 days. Given that Bandido will also be involved in the PWG BOLA 2022, it would be fair to expect Rey Horus to meet his fellow masked competitor in singles competition.
