Paris Saint-Germain in Advanced Talks Over Nuno Mendes Transfer

Nuno Mendes Transfer

According to Fabrizio Romano, Sporting Lisbon have softened their Nuno Mendes transfer stance, and are now open to selling the young left-back for €40 million. Paris Saint-Germain are currently in advanced talks over a potential move for the Portuguese international, having already agreed personal terms, and may attempt to include Pablo Sarabia in the deal, with Sporting keen on signing the Spaniard.

PSG’s Transfer Window Could Be About to Get Even Better

PSG have had one of the greatest transfer windows of all time between the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons.

Achraf Hakimi arrived from Inter Milan for a fee of £54 million earlier in the summer, after an impressive campaign with the Italian giants. The fullback has some incredible attacking talent which Les Parisiens will no doubt put to good use in a league where they are largely dominant. His defensive ability not being so strong could have more of an effect in PSG’s Champions League endeavors, as they try to take the opportunity to finally win the competition with their best squad ever.

Other than Hakimi, the French giants have only signed one other player for a transfer fee, which was former Porto midfielder, Danilo Pereira.

The free transfers, however, are where they have signed some truly world-class players.

Legendary centre-back Sergio Ramos joined from Real Madrid, and despite being 35 years of age, he is still one of the world’s best in his position.

Gianluigi Donnarumma is the second of PSG’s three incredibly impressive “free” moves this summer, being young and full of potential yet still highly experienced and already one of the best goalkeepers in the game.

Finally, and by far the biggest of the lot, Lionel Messi moved to the Parc Des Princes in early August. The Barcelona legend wished his club of 21 years goodbye in the summer, with La Liga’s registration rules not allowing the Argentine to sign his already agreed contract in Spain. He instead had to leave when his contract ran out, joining an already incredibly powerful PSG.

Nuno Mendes is a fantastic young prospect who would no doubt experience plenty of success should he move to the French capital, but the deal will have to be completed before Tuesday’s 11 pm BST transfer deadline.
