Lautaro Martinez has committed his future at Inter Milan by signing a new contract according to Sky Italy, cited by Francesco Porzio.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were both interested in the 24-year-old striker. However, Martinez sees his future with the reigning Serie A champions. According to Gianluca di Marzio, he will receive €6 million net per season plus add-ons in the new deal and will either be a four or five-year deal, which will be formally announced very soon.

Huge Boost for Inter Milan

It has been a summer of upheaval for Inter Milan. Due to their financial difficulties, they had a number of key players from their title-winning campaign leave the club such as Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi.

Many Inter fans would have been expecting that Lautaro Martinez would be next to leave the Nerazzurri. However, having the Argentine striker commit his long-term future to Inter will be a huge boost for their supporters. Martinez is happy at the club and also wants to become the main man at the San Siro after the departure of Romelu Lukaku.

Martinez joined Inter Milan from the Argentine side Racing Club in 2018 and has scored 50 goals in 133 appearances. Last season, he scored 17 goals in Serie A as he helped Inter win their first Scudetto in ten years.

The 24-year-old scored in the first game of the Serie A season against Hellas Verona as Inter Milan came from behind to win. Simeone Inzaghi’s side have had an impressive start to their title defence, winning their first two matches and scoring seven goals in the process.

Lautaro Martinez will likely target the 20 goals mark in the league this season. If he achieves this, Inter Milan won’t be far away from retaining their Serie A crown.
