Aston Villa vs Manchester United Predictions and Best Odds for November 6

Cristiano Ronaldo follows Alejandro Garnacho out of the tunnel in the Europa League.

Manchester United will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to six games when Aston Villa welcome the Red Devils to Villa Park on November 6.

Aston Villa vs Manchester United Predictions

Aston Villa Current Run of Form

Villa are on a terrible run of form of late, having lost three of their last five Premier League fixtures, accompanied by one draw and one win.

Their last two results have showcased both the best and the worst of this highly talented, yet inconsistent Aston Villa side.  Following the dismissal of Steven Gerrard, Villa thrashed Brentford 4-0 – a display which highlighted how dangerous they can be when their attacking players are on song. However, that result, which appeared to be a possible turning point for the Claret and Blue, was followed by a dismal display away at Newcastle United, which resulted in a 4-0 defeat.

Manchester United Current Run of Form

The Erik ten Hag effect is becoming clear to see at Manchester United, with the Red Devils winning four and drawing just once in their last five games.

That run of form includes impressive victories over both Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United in the Premier League, as well as two successive wins in the Uefa Europa League. Perhaps most impressively, United have conceded just one goal in that time, which came in their dramatic 1-1 draw away at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.

Recent Head-to-Head

Manchester United have won three out of the last five fixtures between these two sides, losing just once. The most recent encounter ended in a draw when goals from Leon Bailey and Calum Chambers helped Villa secure a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford after initially going two down.

The previous instalment occurred in the FA Cup, with the Red Devils securing a 1-0 win thanks to a first-half goal from Scott McTominay. In general, recent games between these sides have been close, but Manchester United have, for the most part, found a way to get the job done.

Aston Villa vs Manchester United Prediction

Looking at the recent form of these two sides, there is a glaringly obvious trend that should be of concern for Aston Villa fans. Thanks to their new-found defensive resilience under Ten Hag, Man United have kept four clean sheets in their last five fixtures, whilst Villa have failed to score a goal in three of their last five matches. As a result, this encounter appears to be a mismatch, with a toothless attack facing up against a very effective defensive system. That mismatch, combined with United’s recent dominance in this fixture, suggests that an away win for the Red Devils is the most likely outcome.

Current Odds: Aston Villa vs Manchester United

SkyBet also believe Manchester United to be the favourites, with the away win priced at 11/10. The next most likely result is a home win for Aston Villa at 12/5, with the draw currently coming in at 5/2.
