Liverpool travel to the Molineux Stadium on Thursday night. They seek to continue their ever-impressive Premier League campaign. They have only dropped two points all season. Much of that is down to Alisson. He is looking to record his eighth successive clean sheet for Liverpool. Pepe Reina was the last Liverpool goalkeeper to achieve this under Rafa Benitez.

Alisson Is a Key Cog in the Liverpool Machine
Liverpool’s goalkeeper is a large reason for their success. The club have not looked back since Alisson replaced Loris Karius in the summer of 2018. Adrian filled in well for the Brazilian when he was injured, though Alisson’s return led to improved defensive solidity for Liverpool.
He has now part of a consistently stable defensive unit which also consists of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson. They have not conceded a goal in their last seven games. They will be hoping to see that record continue against Wolves on Thursday.
Time for Fabinho?
The return of Fabinho to the matchday squad against Manchester United was a welcome sight. The team have kicked on in his absence, winning every game. However, whilst Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum are practically guaranteed starting places, there remains a third midfield spot up for grabs.
With James Milner and Naby Keita injured, Fabinho is battling Adam Lallana and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for this spot. The Brazilian was outstanding before his injury, so it won’t be too long before he reclaims it for himself. However, Klopp could choose to re-introduce him in what is sure to be a less intense game in the FA Cup against Shrewsbury Town instead.
Firmino’s Away Form
Roberto Firmino is yet to score a goal at Anfield in the Premier League this season. He has, however, scored seven goals on his travels. He will look to add another to his collection against Wolves.
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will accompany him up front as usual. Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri, who has been subject to loan bids, will all have to wait until the FA Cup for their chance to start. Despite Liverpool’s massive points advantage, the Premier League remains the priority and the target will be to secure at least 95 points. The best way for Klopp to do this is by playing his strongest side.
