5. Team SmackDown Vs. Team Raw – Survivor Series 2005
Traditional Survivor Series elimination matches are a staple of the event, and for the first time at the 2005 iteration, they featured brand warfare. Both SmackDown and Raw fielded strong teams with battle for brand supremacy in full swing. SmackDown’s quintet, led by the World Heavyweight Champion Batista, was followed by Randy Orton, JBL, Rey Mysterio, and Bobby Lashley. Raw’s Shawn Michaels, Carlito, Chris Masters, and the World Tag Team Champions Kane and Big Show were looking to stop the blue brand in their tracks.
The match’s build made fans heavily invested, and the same was true of the bout. For the second time in three years in a traditional Survivor Series elimination match, Orton and Michaels were the final two. The Legend Killer scored the victory for SmackDown. However, his joy was short-lived as The Undertaker returned and cleaned out the house, bringing the SmackDown roster’s celebrations to a halt prematurely.
