8. Team Orton vs. Team Triple H – Survivor Series 2004
The rivalry between former Evolution allies Randy Orton and the World Heavyweight Champion Triple H spilled over at Survivor Series 2004. The Legend Killer captained his team, featuring himself, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, and Maven. The Game, Batista, Edge, and Gene Snitsky completed the lineup of heels. A massive stipulation was at stake: the team that prevailed would control Monday Night Raw for a month, whilst Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff took a vacation.
There were some bright spells in the match, and Orton thrived in traditional Survivor Series elimination matches. Orton determined not to let the reigning World Heavyweight Champion get the upper hand as he’d been in store for a world of hurt by the Game. Orton eliminated Edge from proceedings, and he finished off Triple H with an RKO. Securing a monumental victory and becoming the sole survivor for the second consecutive year.
