TNA Thursday Night iMPACT Preview (7/16/26) – Welcome Back to the Future

Here is the TNA Thursday Night iMPACT preview of the July 16, 2026, episode. With five matches and two segments, this episode is another look at what TNA’s future may be. The TNA Knockouts Television Championship was revealed at TNA Slammiversary 2026; the tournament is on. Leon Slater and Ricky Sosa seem to be a tag team, and “the future of the sport.”

As TNA Wrestling announced its full 2026 schedule of live events and PLEs, we know that we are now on a long road to Lockdown on August 23. That means many more reasons to watch Thursday Night iMPACT weekly on AMC (or TNA+). The weekly show is now reaching 200K+ people on TV, so let’s keep it this way.

Last night on NXT, there was no content related to TNA Wrestling. If all the TNA titles are now back home, the partnership is not done. Crossing the lines also means crossing the reviews. With that in mind, let’s now Nygma-dive into the episode.

Thursday Night iMPACT Preview (7/16/26) – The Stakes at TNA Wrestling

This week on TNA Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC, the TNA X-Division Championship is on the line as Cedric Alexander defends against Fabian Aichner in a must-see title match. The Knockouts Television Championship Tournament continues with Harley Hudson facing NXT’s Thea Hail and M by Elegance taking on Rosemary. Plus, fans will hear from TNA International Champion Mustafa Ali during his State of the Order Address.

Ricky Sosa looks to continue his rise in TNA Wrestling as he takes on the hard-hitting Bear Bronson in a singles showdown.

After his debut in TNA Wrestling, Fabian Aichner has made it clear that the TNA X-Division Championship is his target. Now, the opportunity he has been waiting for is here as TNA X-Division Champion Cedric Alexander defends his title in a high-stakes showdown between two of the division’s elite competitors.

Two of TNA’s most dominant powerhouses collide as Moose goes one-on-one with AJ Francis in a hard-hitting singles match that promises no shortage of brute force.

Harley Hudson and NXT Thea Hail collide in a Knockouts Television Championship Tournament matchup, with a coveted spot in the next round on the line.

M by Elegance and Rosemary go head-to-head in the Knockouts Television Championship Tournament, where only one will advance to the next round.

Mustafa Ali delivers his latest State of the Order Address as the TNA International Champion looks to lay out his vision and send a message to the entire locker room.

TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth addresses the iMPACT Zone as the reigning Champion looks ahead to what’s next and sends a message to anyone chasing the TNA World Championship.

Thursday Night iMPACT Preview (7/16/26) – The Nygma’s View

Championship things

Fabian Aichner became the #1 contender for the TNA X-Division Championship two weeks ago. He faces the current Champion Cedric Alexander this week. And I will tell you what I’m used to telling you: Alexander is a member of the System. And Aichner has had plenty of problems with the System. Nygma thinks that it will be a great match, but it’s not Aichner’s time to be the Champ.

TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth has some things to say. He attacked and betrayed KC Navarro 2 weeks ago and last week. Nemeth is supposed to tell us about what’s next for him and the Championship. Unless he is blind, which I expect not, Nemeth’s future has a name: KC Navarro. Nygma wants a World title match for KC Navarro, even if the chance doesn’t mean the win.

The TNA Knockouts Television Championship tournament continues. If Allie faced Heather by Elegance two weeks ago, Rosemary faces Maggie by Elegance this week. NXT’s Thea Hail makes her debut in the iMPACT Zone as she faces TNA’s Pink Lady, Harley Hudson. Hail is a former NXT Women’s North American Champion and a fierce competitor. She could create the surprise. When it comes to Rosemary, if Heather got her revenge on Allie, Maggie could take the same road, something Nygma would totally disapprove of.

And other things

TNA International Champion Mustafa Ali is not a happy leader. His fellow Order 4 members have lost match after match. Tasha Steelz was eliminated from the TNA Knockouts TV title tournament two weeks ago when The Good Hands failed to capture the TNA World Tag Team Championship last week. At least, Special Agent 0 says nothing. Nygma expects to see some changes in the faction. Unless Ali has another trick up his sleeve to let us think it is the case.

Moose faces AJ Francis. Because of Moose, it will be a great match. Because of AJ Francis, the end will be wasted. Francis can’t win without cheating. That’s a fact. Then, because of what happened last week in the King’s Speech, Nygma sees the wolf in the book. Its name is Frankie Kazarian. So, a tag team match next week is more than predictable.

Bear Bronson faces Ricky Sosa. The former TNA World Tag Team Champion doesn’t need anyone from the System by his side. He can teach Ricky Sosa a hard lesson on his own. Don’t imagine I have a problem with Ricky Sosa, but he is far away from being called the future of the sport. Nygma reminds everyone that you have to learn to crawl before walking, exactly what Sosa has to understand.

I’ll see you on Friday with all the results and the iMPACT review. Stay tuned as I talk to Ryan Nemeth tomorrow. As I have already said many times, 2026 is a loaded year for TNA Wrestling. The Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC era is nothing but Nygma. How else could it be? Till then, may the Nygma be with you.
