Real Madrid Winger Rodrygo to Sign New Contract

A Star in the Making

“Yes, I’m going to extend the contract,” Rodrygo said. “Real Madrid is my dream.”

Clearly, that’s music to the ears of Real Madrid faithful. The 21-year-old Brazilian winger continues to improve and already played a major role in the success of Los Blancos last season. Real Madrid are now the reigning champions of both Spain and Europe.

Rodrygo scored four goals and provided five assists in 33 La Liga appearances last season. He was more lethal in the Champions League, however, scoring five goals and providing two assists in just 11 games.

At times, it’s rare to see a player so young contribute so greatly to European champions, let alone a club the size of Real Madrid. Rodrygo is an exception. In fact, Real Madrid currently hold a plethora of young talent.

Outside of Rodrygo, the team also has Vinicius Junior, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eder Militao, Federico Valverde, and more. Los Blancos missed out on Kylian Mbappe, as he chose to remain with Paris Saint-Germain, but they’ll be just fine.

Rodrygo and his Brazilian teammate Vinicius both hold seemingly limitless potential on the wings. They also get to play alongside one of football’s top strikers in Karim Benzema, a veteran and a star.

Real Madrid are often seen as the pinnacle of a player’s career, and Rodrygo is already starring for the club at such a young age.
