WrestleMania 21 was a significant night in John Cena’s career as he was looking to halt JBL’s 280-day WWE Championship reign. Cena excelled as the United States Champion, but he was ready to be elevated and take the next step in his career. Cena and JBL’s match wasn’t an instant classic by any stretch, but the night was designed for Cena to go over.
Fans were pleased to see JBL’s WWE Championship reign curtailed. However, only one Attitude Adjustment was enough for Cena to win the WWE Championship for the first time. The leader of the Cenation delivered the goods in his first WWE Championship reign, and beating JBL kicked things off for him in a major way.
