5. Chris Jericho
Survivor Series 2008 saw John Cena return to in-ring competition for the first time in three months, and he appeared in front of his hometown fans in Boston. Cena never held the World Heavyweight Championship, and he was pitted against the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, Chris Jericho, in a blockbuster main event. Jericho was a man in form, beating the likes of Shawn Michaels and Batista in World Heavyweight Championship contests.
Jericho and Cena produced a competitive World Heavyweight Championship match. However, Jericho should have gone over, and Cena’s chase for the world title should have continued. Nevertheless, Cena clinched the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in Boston.
