7 – Survivor Series 2004
Some underrated championship matches at Survivor Series 2004 often get lost in the shuffle. Spike Dudley retained the Cruiserweight Championship against former champions Rey Mysterio, Billy Kidman, and Chavo Guerrero in an entertaining opener. Christian failed to win the Intercontinental Championship for the fourth time, with Shelton Benjamin retaining the title in a remarkable bout.
Trish Stratus and Lita’s grudge match for the WWE Women’s Championship ended prematurely with Lita viciously assaulting Trish, leaving the reigning champion with a bloody nose.
The Undertaker contested one of the worst matches in his Survivor Series catalog against Heidenreich, who was not at the caliber to face The Undertaker. Another noteworthy result was that JBL successfully defended the WWE Championship against Booker T in an average bout.
Ultimately, the winner of the Team Triple H and Team Orton traditional Survivor Series elimination match gained control of Monday Night Raw for one month. That privilege went to Orton’s side with the Legend Killer becoming the sole survivor in a traditional Survivor Series match for the second year in succession at the World Heavyweight Champion Triple H’s expense.
