Jesse Marsch opted to keep the CB pairing of Luc De Fougerolles and Derek Cornelius, betting they will avoid a second yellow card that would see them suspended for the knockout phase game. That puts Moise Bombito on the bench. Nathan Saliba slots in for the injured Ismael Kone in midfield. There’s a surprise in that midfield though, Mathieu Choiniere debuts as a starter in place of Stephen Eustaquio. The 27-year-old from LAFC getting minutes in this world cup. Per TSN, Marsch said Eustaquio wasn’t fit to play. Alphonso Davies is also not a starter as he continues to try to return from injury.

Switzerland Team News

Needing a win to top this group, Switzerland has opted to bring in Djibril Sow as an attacking midfielder to pair with Granit Xhaka. Luca Jaquez comes into the backline, while Breel Embolo continues as the main striker.
