Scotland Team News

Steve Clarke’s only concern is Scott McKenna. The Nottingham Forest defender missed the opening game with a calf injury and sat out training again on Wednesday.

Apart from McKenna, Clarke has a fully fit squad to choose from. The Scotland boss may make a change to his formation as they face a superior opposition to Haiti, and one that outplayed Brazil for long periods. Find out who he has picked to start below.

Mohamed Ouahbi has no injury concerns ahead of this game and is expected to keep faith in those who played well against Brazil in the 1-1 draw. Expect Morocco to focus much of their attacking play down their right side with captain Achraf Hakimi and Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz.

Steve Clarke on Morocco Challenge

The Scotland boss feels his team and the country are a little more comfortable when they are the underdogs. He said: “Sometimes the Scottish psyche and mentality is that we are a little more comfortable when we are the underdog. We were the favourites against Haiti and found the game a struggle, but we managed to win.

“This time we are the underdogs, and sometimes Scotland prefer it that way.

“The first thing is to try and win, if you can’t win, then don’t lose. Permutations and whatever else is for you guys [the media] and all the punters to think about, not for us.”

Morocco Head Coach Believes Scotland Game Will Be Physical

Mohamed Ouahbi spoke in his press conference about how this game will be different from the one they played against Brazil. He said: “The Brazil match was tactical, tomorrow’s (Friday’s) clash will be physical. The match against Scotland will be different because they are quick with the ball.

“We have prepared the players to be ready. We do not want to keep the same performance we had against Brazil. We want to improve. They are ahead of us and we have to do our best. It will be a hard match.”
