Scotland Predicted Lineup and Latest Team News vs Morocco on June 19

Last Word on Football brings you the Scotland predicted lineup and latest team news ahead of their 2026 World Cup game against Morocco.

The Tartan Army, who are out in America in force, will be hoping to build on their 1-0 victory over Haiti in the opening game. Should they avoid defeat, Scotland could progress to the knockout stages at a World Cup for the first time ever.

However, this is unlikely to be an easy game. Morocco will be looking for a win following their 1-1 draw with Brazil in their opening game, and are currently on a 30-game unbeaten run.

Scotland Team News

Scotland boss Steve Clarke now has a full squad to choose from for their second 2026 World Cup game. Defender Scott McKenna missed the win over Haiti and missed training again on Wednesday; however, he is now back in contention.

Despite McKenna now being available, Clarke will likely stick with the starting 11 that took the field against Haiti.

Angus Gunn is once again expected to start in goal with Jack Hendry, Grant Hanley, Andy Robertson, and Aaron Hickey in front of him.

Ben Gannon-Doak, and goal scoring hero from the first game, John McGinn, should once again start on the wings with Scott McTominay, and Lewis Ferguson in centre midfield.

One dilema that Clarke does have is to either play two strikers once again or bring in an extra midfielder. Should he start with two strikers, then Lawrence Shankland and Che Adams will start. If he goes with a five-man midfield, expect Ryan Christie to be the one who comes into the team.

Steve Clarke: “We Are The Underdogs”

Ahead of the game, Steve Clarke spoke in his press conference about how they prefer to be the underdogs. He said:  “It is a big challenge for us. We give them a lot of respect. We expect they will probably have more of the ball, more possession. We have to make sure that when we have the ball we can be a threat to Morocco.”

“Sometimes the Scottish psyche and mentality is that we are a little more comfortable when we are the underdog. We were the favourites against Haiti and found the game a struggle, but we managed to win. This time we are the underdogs and sometimes Scotland prefer it that way.”
