Oxford United Welcome Leeds
Team News, Form and Prediction
Despite unconvincing defeats against Hull, Middlesbrough and QPR in recent weeks, Gary Rowett’s side have three wins from their last six. All of those victories have come by a goal to nil, so keeping clean sheets and a tight defence isn’t often an issue.
However, they’ll be tested against Leeds with the Whites scoring 82 goals this season. Despite a patchy spell of one win in five, the league leaders have now picked up six points from their last two league games.
Leeds are decent on the road, picking up 36 points on their travels this season. As for Oxford, they’ve got 35 points at Grenoble Road.
The U’s are without Ciaron Brown, while Hidde ter Avest Will be assessed after being substituted off with concussion against QPR. Elliott Moore is also sidelined.
Leeds are without Pascal Struijk, Dan James, Sam Chambers and former U’s midfielder, Joe Rothwell.
Leeds comfortably won the reverse fixture at Elland Road in what was the only game between Des Buckingham’s sacking and Gary Rowett’s appointment. The U’s have lost the last three meetings between the two sides without scoring but have all come on the road. The last home meeting was an FA Cup tie which ended in a draw, but the last home league meeting ended in defeat for Oxford.
Predicted line-up: Jamie Cumming, Joe Bennett, Michal Helik, Ben Nelson, Sam Long, Will Vaulks, Alex Matos, Tyler Goodrham, Ole Romeny, Stan Mills, Tom Bradshaw.
Prediction: Oxford United 0-2 Leeds United
