Manchester United Now Set to Sign Mason Mount After Transfer Breakthrough

Manchester United Want to Sign Another Midfielder

The Red Devils are certainly in need of another midfielder to add to their ranks this summer.

Their depth in the middle of the park is poor and was shown to be as such last season when the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro were unavailable.

Furthermore, with Christian Eriksen not quite at the level needed to challenge for the Premier League and Champions League titles, it was always going to be the case that United brought in another creative midfielder to replace the Dane.

That now seems to be on the verge of happening, with Mount looking set to complete his move to Old Trafford.

What’s the Latest on the Mason Mount to Manchester United Saga?

Romano revealed in a tweet: “Manchester United agree £60m package deal for Mason Mount with Chelsea — it’s done, here we go!

“Personal terms agreed weeks ago and face-to-face talks between clubs made it clear: the agreement is done. Mount becomes a United player — they NEVER left the race.”

The transfer insider also said in a separate tweet that the Englishman would sign a five-year contract at Old Trafford, with his medicals already scheduled for this weekend.

United will pay £55 million in a guaranteed fee with £5 million in add-ons.
