The update from Sky Sports reveals that Manchester United have made initial contact with Brighton over Caicedo, and are expected to return and make a formal approach for the player described as “sensational.” The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Chelsea this summer, with the Mail Online reporting that the Stamford Bridge club are favourite for the midfielder’s signature.

The report from the Mail goes on to explain that Erik ten Hag wishes to upgrade his midfield this summer, with the club heavily linked with Mason Mount. The protracted transfer of the Englishman has involved the Red Devils having three bids rejected from Chelsea. Sky Sports reveal that Manchester United look set to make a formal approach for Caicedo, who Ten Hag is a fan of, according to the Mail Online.
