The Italian giants are really keen on signing the 28-year-old after realizing that he could be available on a free transfer. They are nearing a gentlemen’s agreement with the winger over the length of his contract with them as well as the salary which he’ll receive.

Juventus are now ready to send in their official, final proposal to Depay in the next few days to push the deal through. Not just the financial aspects, but Massimiliano Allegri also has to convince him about giving him regular playing time this season. Memphis has decided to only consider top clubs for a summer move and is probably intrigued with a move to the Turin side.

Barcelona to Cancel Depay’s Contract Once He Finds Agreement

For now, the La Liga side are been patient with the 28-year-old’s transfer future. He has even been included in their La Liga squad for this campaign as Barcelona do not want to exile him either. But the Spanish side are hoping he can seal an agreement soon with the Italian side.

That will allow them to terminate his contract, but they’ll take this step only after being assured that Depay’s contractual agreement with Juventus is fully sealed. With the Blaugrana signing Lewandowski as well as Raphinha to bolster their forward line, the 28-year-old Dutchman is no longer considered a key player for them.

Despite that, Memphis is still a widely appreciated player in Europe. He was called as a ‘joy to watch’ by ex-Barcelona manager Ronaldo Koeman in the past and has recovered well from a poor stint with Manchester United from 2015-2017. The 28-year-old has 158 goals and 96 assists in his career and was Barcelona’s top scorer with 13 goals last season.
