Raphinha: FC Barcelona Look Set to Complete the Signing of the Leeds United Winger

Brazilian Winger on the Verge of His Dream Move to FC Barcelona

The Brazilian looks set to sign a contract until June 2027, after FC Barcelona and Leeds United agreed a deal which looks certain to bring one of the most protracted transfer deals this summer to a conclusion. Raphinha has made no secret of his desire to move to the Camp Nou having agreed personal terms on a move back in February. The player desperately waited on the two clubs to agree a fee so he could embark on his dream of playing for the La Liga side.

Discussions between the two clubs had come to a standstill over the past few days, with Leeds United seeking guarantees of payments from the La Liga side before agreeing to any deal, as Leeds had an attractive offer on the table from Chelsea.

It remains to be seen whether the Catalan giants will be able to register Raphinha due to their widely reported financial woes, but despite this potential sticking point, the future of this transfer seems secure, with Leeds agreeing to the sale of their star player.

Chelsea were seemingly favourites for the winger’s signature after having a £55 million offer accepted but it quickly became apparent the only desire of the player was to move to Barcelona, with the Brazilian winger deciding to wait on the two clubs to agree a deal.

Despite surviving relegation to the Championship, Leeds have long accepted they would be losing their talisman. The club, however, have recently signed his replacement after the club sealed the transfer of Luis Sinisterra from Feyenoord for £21.4 million. The Elland Road club have also recently signed Brenden Aaronson from FC Red Bull Salzburg for a fee of £24.7m. Aaronson can also play on the wing. These new arrivals were financed by the sale of the Brazilian international and Kalvin Phillips.
