A Great Addition

Sterling has long been one of the top wingers in the Premier League, formerly appearing for Liverpool before City.

Last season, the 27-year-old scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 30 Premier League appearances. He also scored three goals and provided two assists in 12 Champions League matches. City have a plethora of attacking depth, which sometimes finds Sterling on the bench. Prior to the last couple of seasons, however, Sterling recorded outstanding statistical seasons for City. For example, in 2017/18 he had 18 goals and 15 assists in 33 Premier League matches.

Chelsea’s attacking pecking order will look quite different from last season. For starters, Romelu Lukaku has departed for Inter Milan. In addition, Hakim Ziyech is regarded as one of AC Milan’s primary transfer targets.

Names currently in the squad include Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, and Christian Pulisic, among others.

Sterling is as experienced and as talented as most wingers come, especially in the Premier League. On paper, his fit with Chelsea looks great and he should find his role with no issues.
