AC Milan Are Targeting Attacking and Playmaking Help

AC Milan are targeting help in the attacking and playmaking departments right now. The club is closely monitoring Hakim Ziyech of Chelsea and Charles De Ketelaere of Club Brugge, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Rossoneri, in fact, have made an opening bid of £17 million (€20 million). With that being said, Leeds United have made a better offer of £25.6 million (€30 million) plus add-ons.

AC Milan Are Targeting Creative Help

Reinforcements Are Needed

Milan are more or less set at striker. Divock Origi has just arrived from Liverpool, Olivier Giroud remains on the roster, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic is extending his contract (although he’s recovering from injury).

The team needs help directly behind the strikers. Rafael Leao is a star on the left-wing, but the other positions are mediocre at best. Brahim Diaz disappointed last season, and oftentimes was replaced by Franck Kessie in the attacking midfield. Kessie is now gone too. The right-wing consists of Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers, two players who are solid but are merely depth options.

Ziyech has somewhat struggled for time on the pitch since joining Chelsea. With that being said, he was a star at Ajax. During Ajax’s magical 2018/19 season, Ziyech scored 19 goals and provided 20 assists in a combined 40 Eredivisie and Champions League matches. Last season he scored four goals and provided three assists in 23 Premier League appearances. A duo of Leao and Ziyech could produce endless scoring opportunities for Milan strikers.

De Ketelaere is the youth option as he’s just 21 years old. He blossomed last season, scoring 14 goals and providing seven assists in 33 Jupiler Pro League appearances. He’s a different player than Ziyech, however, as De Ketelaere is more of a second-striker. With that being said, he would fit in nicely with Milan’s youth movement.
