Liverpool Keep Star Forward Mohamed Salah

After a season marred with cryptic Tweets and transfer rumours, Salah has pledged his future to Liverpool. The Egyptian winger signed for the Reds in 2017. Since then, he’s bagged a staggering 156 goals in 254 appearances, winning three Golden Boots, while lifting the Champions League and Premier League trophies. Last season, he also picked up both the PFA and FWA Player of the Season awards.

Speaking to liverpoolfc.com, Salah said: “I feel great and [I am] excited to win trophies with the club. It’s a happy day for everyone.

“It takes a little bit of time, I think, to renew, but now everything is done so we just need to focus on what’s next.”

It comes after long-time strike partner, Sadio Mane, departed the club. Mane signed for German champions Bayern Munich. Salah and Mane played a whopping 233 games together.

Liverpool’s Ambitions for the Coming Season

This is fantastic news for Liverpool fans. Last season’s unprecedented quadruple attempt was substantially boosted by Salah’s presence, with 31 goals across the campaign. Now, having signed Darwin Nunez and Calvin Ramsay to bolster an already star-studded squad, the Reds will be keen to push even further this time out.

Salah added: “Last season we were close to winning four, but unfortunately in the last week of the season we lost two trophies.

“I think we are in a good position to fight for everything. We have new signings as well. We just need to keep working hard, have a good vision, be positive and go for everything again.

“As usual, you stay behind us and give us a big push and I am sure we are going to win trophies again.”
