Manchester United Handed Massive Boost as £260k Per Week Midfielder Becomes Available for Free

Christian Eriksen

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a major transfer boost as Brentford midfielder Christian Eriksen is announced on the London club’s list of players to be released this summer. While they are still hopeful that they can come to an agreement with the Danish international, this represents a major step in his departure from the Bees, with plenty of big clubs circling.

A Great Opportunity for Manchester United

Many have forgotten what a top-class talent Eriksen is.

After his health scare last summer during Euro 2020, he has returned to the world of football and impressed tremendously with Brentford, helping them in their outstanding debut Premier League season. He showed everyone that the old magic is still very much there, and as such has garnered plenty of interest from top sides.

One such team is Manchester United, with the Red Devils looking to replace a host of outgoing players. The exits of Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard for free this summer mean that Erik ten Hag has just one attacking midfielder to call on in his current squad, Bruno Fernandes. With no transfer fee attached, a move for Eriksen would be a very smart way to replace the departing players.

Possibility of a Sensational Tottenham Return for Christian Eriksen

Another possible move for the Dane is to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, where he has several links.

He, of course, played for Spurs for six-and-a-half years between 2013 and 2020, and they are looking to bring him back.

Not only that, but Eriksen also has experience under manager Antonio Conte, with the pair having worked together at Inter Milan. The Italian boss’ future in North London was recently clarified, and he will now look to build a squad with the investment promised by Daniel Levy. Joining back up with his former colleague would certainly be a good piece of business, and having qualified for next year’s Champions League, they could have an edge over their competition.
