Wolverhampton Wanderers to Sign Jose Sa

Wolves are very close to announcing the signing of Portuguese goalkeeper, Jose Sa. The 28-year-old will replace fellow countryman Rui Patricio, who has joined AS Roma. Wolves have long had an agreement in place with Jose Sa, but was waiting for Olympiacos to find a replacement for the 28-year-old.

Sa joined Olympiacos in 2018, initially on loan, before making it permanent in 2019. In his three seasons at the club, the custodian made 122 appearances for the Greek giants. He was also an integral part of the squad that won back-to-back league titles.

Sa will be the third signing of the season for Wolves following the departure of manager Nuno Espírito Santo. Wolves had earlier announced the signing of Yerson Mosquera from Atletico Nacional, while they exercised the option to buy Rayan Ait-Nouri from Angers. Barcelona winger Francisco Trincao will also be plying his trade at the Molineux this season after moving to the club on a season-long deal.

Tomas Vaclik to Olympiacos

Olympiacos have officially announced the signing of 32-year-old Czech Republic international Tomas Vaclik on a free transfer. The shot-stopper arrives at the Greek City after an impressive three seasons with Sevilla. Vaclik had been a free agent after the 32-year-old left Sevilla on a free at the end of last season.

Vaclik was the first-choice goalkeeper at Sevilla in the first two seasons at the club following his arrival in 2018. A series of knee injuries in 2020 saw the goalkeeper losing his place to Yassine Bounou. During his three seasons in Seville, Vaclik made 94 appearances for the Andalusian club.
