Erling Haaland Is Set to Become Barcelona’s Number One Priority This Summer

Erling Haaland set

According to Luis Rojo and Carmen Torres of Marca, Erling Haaland is set to become Barcelona’s top priority this summer. But, they will face stiff competition for perhaps, the most sought-after individual in world football at present.

The Norway international has emerged as one of Europe’s exciting prospects over the past couple of seasons, with his impeccable goal-scoring record demonstrating what a talent he is.

Erling Haaland Is Set to Be Barcelona’s Prioritised Transfer Target

Taking Germany and Europe by Storm

The Norwegian has scored 19 Bundesliga goals in 18 starts this campaign, in a Borussia Dortmund side who are struggling to replicate last season’s form. Despite his more than impressive year thus far, the division’s golden boot is not an attainable objective. Robert Lewandowski has 31 goals to his name already this season. A return that even a prime Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi would have been proud of.

A statistic that Haaland will be even prouder with, is his Champions League figures. In his six games in the European competition thus far, he has netted ten times and although Ronaldo’s incredible record of 17 goals in the 2013/14 season may prove to be a bit of a stretch, it is an incredible return for such a young player.

Haaland’s brace against Sevilla last week meant that he was the fastest player in history to reach 20 Champions League goals, ten goals fewer than Harry Kane – the player whose record he strolled past.

Erling Haaland Set to Be a Wanted Man All Over Europe

The 20-year-old is a world-wide wanted man, but the pursuit for the Norwegian striker is exclusively for Europe’s elite. In England, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City have all expressed their admiration in Haaland, with German rivals Bayern Munich also in the running.

Real Madrid are seemingly working towards a deal for another superstar in Kylian Mbappe, whilst their Spanish counterparts, Barcelona, are reportedly prioritising a move for the Borussia Dortmund man.

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested but are a lot less likely to fend off the more interested parties.
