Rochdale have signed midfielder Conor Grant on a permanent deal from Sheffield Wednesday.

Grant Has Made One Senior Appearance for the Owls

The talented central midfielder joins Rochdale after a spell at Sheffield Wednesday. Initially joining as a scholar in 2017, Grant made just one senior appearance for the Owls. Ironically, that sole appearance came against Rochdale in the Carabao Cup in 2018.

Grant will now ply his trade in League One with entertainers Rochdale. Brian Barry-Murphy’s side have been the team to watch due to a recent run of high scoring matches and terrific action.

The midfielder will compete for a spot in a talented midfield. He is the second recruit of the day for Dale after Conor Shaughnessy joined from Leeds United. Barry-Murphy is looking to strengthen his squad with Dale hovering dangerously above the relegation zone.

Dale are 18th in the League One table, four points clear of the drop. Barry-Murphy’s side are fresh off an excellent win at Bristol Rovers.

He is available to make his Rochdale debut against Charlton Athletic this weekend.

Grant Delighted to Join Dale

Speaking to the Rochdale website about his move, Grant said: “I’m excited to get going.”

“My agent said to me a couple of weeks ago that Sheffield Wednesday were talking about a loan, but the gaffer here wanted a permanent deal, which I was all for. I’m really looking forward to working with him.

“I think I can develop a lot here, to be honest. I want to get as many minutes as I can and hopefully kick on.”
