Lazio Loan Andreas Pereira From Manchester United

Andreas Pereira

After finding himself surplus to requirements at Manchester United, Andreas Pereira has completed a loan move to Serie A side Lazio.  The 24-year-old initially joins on loan for the 2020/2021 season but, if he impresses, Lazio have the option to purchase the midfielder for £24 million. The Serie A club will also be paying more than half of the midfielder’s wages.

The midfielder leaves Manchester United with a record of two goals in 45 appearances.

Struggled to Get Going at United

Manchester United fans will be celebrating the loan move as Pereira joins Lazio. The Brazillian had a good run of games, with only Harry Maguire and Fred playing more time than Pereira prior to lockdown.

Manchester United manager Solskjaer was pleased with Pereira last July, saying: “Andreas is another player brought through our Academy that understands what it means to play for Manchester United.” However, the Brazilian only ever showed glimpses of quality and has fallen from the pecking order.

Since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba, Pereira’s chances to play have lowered drastically. However, fans will be pleased to see the progress that the club is making by signing players with more quality.

Solskjaer Planning on More Exits to Fund Expensive Purchases

The transfer of Jadon Sancho has seen little progress in the last few weeks but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still hopeful. However, in order to facilitate the move, the Red Devils boss needs to free up the budget by selling players.

Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, and Diogo Dalot could all leave the club. Although, some of the players may be released at the end of the season unless United can find willing buyers prior to this.
