Latest Transfer Rumours

Liverpool Loan Deal for Coutinho?

Gareth Bicknell of The Mirror reports that Liverpool’s loan offer has the approval of Philippe Coutinho. Failing to solidify a place in the Barcelona starting eleven, Coutinho looks set to leave Spain this summer after just a year and a half. The arrival of Antoine Griezmann may spell further grief for the Brazilian’s game time.

With many linking Coutinho with a move to PSG, as part of a deal for Neymar, Liverpool have also entered the fray. The Merseyside club have reportedly made an offer of a two-year loan, with the option to make his move permanent for £88 million. They are the only Premier League club who he would consider playing for.

Tottenham In New Offer for Zaniolo

Alfredo Pedulla understands that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing Nicolo Zaniolo, and could offer a star defender in a deal for him. Spurs could offer £27 million, and Toby Alderweireld, to land the 20-year old Roma star. Alderweireld, 30 years of age, only has a year left on his contract, and his release clause of £28 million expires in 11 days.

Roma are thought to only consider offers in excess of £50 million for their young Italian star. Spurs consider this deal to represent that value. Zaniolo, for his part, is intrigued by this deal, and this puts Spurs ahead of Juventus in the race for his signature.

Newcastle To Smash Transfer Record for New Striker

Newcastle are set to revive their interest in Brazilian striker Joelinton, Simon Jones of Mail Online writes. They held interest in the Hoffenheim star in January, but the German side held out for £40 million. Now, Mike Ashley is reportedly willing to part with £36 million to try and secure his signature but wants to avoid protracted negotiations.

Any transfer would only come after Newcastle appoint a new manager, with that their current priority. Steve Bruce could become the new Toon boss, after leaving Sheffield Wednesday. A new striker is also considered a must on Tyneside, after losing their two top-scorers Salomón Rondón and Ayoze Pérez.

New Villa Signing To Have Buy-Back Clause

Dean Rudge of the Birmingham Mail claims that Aston Villa are close to signing Douglas Luiz, but the deal comes with a twist; Manchester City will include a buy-back clause in the midfielder’s transfer. Aston Villa will reportedly pay £15 million for the Brazilian, and City’s buy-back fee would likely be at least £25 million.

This is a transfer that would push Villa’s spending to £100 million ahead of their Premier League return. Luiz only joined City two years ago but spent two years on loan while getting a work permit. Should the 21-year-old impress at Villa Park, City could return to snatch their man back.
