Konnan Appears at NWA 73, Accompanies La Rebelión

Konnan NWA 73

Judais and Father James Mitchell weren’t the only surprise appearances at NWA 73. Accompanying La Rebelión members Bestia 666 and Mecha Wolf 450 to the ring was Konnan, the Cuban professional wrestling legend who saw success in World Championship Wrestling, Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, and elsewhere. At NWA 73, Konnan was in the corner of La Rebelión, as the duo challenged Aron Stevens and Kratos for the NWA World Tag Team Championship.

What to Know About Konnan Following NWA 73

In November of 2020, Konnan returned to major American network television for All Elite Wrestling. On AEW Dynamite, he reunited with Santana and Ortiz of The Inner Circle; keep in mind that, together, they were members of The Latin American Xchange in IMPACT Wrestling. Konnan would go on to make multiple AEW appearances, including a cameo during the Stadium Stampede Match at Double or Nothing 2021. He would also stand by his LAX teammates as they feuded with FTR and Tully Blanchard, the latter of whom Konnan cut a scathing promo to on AEW Dynamite.

As a wrestler, Konnan is incredibly decorated in his own right. In World Championship Wrestling, where he wrestled from 1996 up to the company’s closure in 2001. He became a 2x WCW World Tag Team Champion, once with Rey Mysterio Jr. and once with Billy Kidman. Konnan would also hold the WCW United States Heavyweight and World Television titles. Other accolades in his career include, but aren’t limited to, the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship and 2 NWA World Tag Team Championship reigns.
