5 WWE Superstars Who Must Challenge Liv Morgan to Reignite Her Title Reign

At this past WrestleMania, we saw a total of six title changes, with one of the most notable being Liv Morgan defeating Stephanie Vaquer to become the new Women’s World Champion. Now that she’s at the top, Morgan has the potential to turn this run into one of the most dynamic and unpredictable women’s championship reigns in recent memory.

But since Liv’s historic WrestleMania victory, it appears that WWE has zero clue what to do with her. Most recently, management made the head-scratching decision to have her enter the Queen of the Ring tournament, an odd choice for someone who already reigns as one of the two top women’s champions.

Perhaps the most baffling part is that it hasn’t just been Liv Morgan whom the company has struggled to book as champion, but also her two immediate predecessors. Stephanie Vaquer consistently lacked compelling challengers to defend against, and the same booking drought occurred during IYO SKY’s reign.

Although SKY held the championship for 132 days with only three televised defenses, her booking challenges paled in comparison to Vaquer’s, who undeniably dealt with the worst of the division’s creative stagnation.

Despite kicking off her main roster tenure with incredible momentum by defeating IYO SKY at Wrestlepalooza to claim the vacant Women’s World Championship, Vaquer’s push quickly stalled. Merely three and a half months in, WWE arguably failed to provide her with any creative direction to sustain that initial buzz.

Vaquer’s championship reign lasted a whopping 210 days with only five successful defenses. However, the bigger issue wasn’t just the frequency of the defenses, but the lack of variety in her opponents. Her very first defense didn’t even happen until almost two months into her reign, when she defeated Raquel Rodriguez on the November 10, 2025, episode of Raw.

In fact, every single one of her title defenses was against either Rodriguez or Nikki Bella, right up until she ultimately dropped the belt at WrestleMania 42.

To refocus on Liv Morgan, it was important to dive into the company’s past booking issues with this title to provide a clearer picture of the situation.

With that being said, we think it’s the perfect time to look at five potential opponents who can instantly re-energize Liv Morgan’s title reign and, most importantly, provide more excitement for the fans. Let’s dive in!

  1. Roxanne Perez

We’re starting our list with someone who shouldn’t come as a surprise to the WWE Universe, and a choice we believe would work incredibly well. WWE has been teasing a slow-burn exit for Roxanne Perez from The Judgment Day, dating back to a few weeks before Liv Morgan’s big win at WrestleMania.

The groundwork is already there, with the ousted Finn Balor attempting to lure Perez away from the faction. It would be a great move for WWE to finalize her departure from the group, turning her babyface for a major feud against Liv Morgan.

Here is how WWE could handle Perez leaving the “family”: let her passionately explain that she wants to achieve her ultimate goal of becoming a World Champion, only for Morgan to dismissively refer to her as a “rookie” who has plenty of time left to accomplish her dreams. More seeds were planted this past Monday on Raw, showing Roxanne’s clear dissatisfaction with her position in The Judgment Day following her Queen of the Ring tournament loss.

Despite Balor now having moved to SmackDown, they could have him make quick weekly appearances, encouraging Perez to pull the trigger and leave the group, which sets up the perfect opportunity for her to challenge Liv for the Women’s World Championship. This rivalry promises an incredible build-up and an equally impressive match, given that both superstars are highly skilled in the ring and excellent on the mic.
