Paths Liv Morgan Could Take on the Road to WWE WrestleMania 42

We are nearly a week removed from the 2026 Royal Rumble, yet the fallout is only beginning to settle. While the road to Las Vegas is already paved for the men, with Roman Reigns wasting no time in selecting WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, the women’s side of the bracket remains a volatile mystery.

Liv Morgan stands at the center of that storm. After outlasting 29 other women and ruthlessly eliminating her own Judgement Day ally, Raquel Rodriguez, Morgan is playing a much more calculated game of cat and mouse.

The choice ahead of her is a truly important decision. Does she pursue Stephanie Vaquer and the Women’s World Championship to settle the score for her faction? Or does she test her luck against the force of Jade Cargill for the Women’s Championship? Both champions offer a career-defining payday, but for Morgan, the decision is about more than gold; it’s about legacy.

Liv-ing It Up

Since entering the WWE, Morgan has built an imposing list of accomplishments and accolades.

Gionna Daddio, known professionally by her ring name Liv Morgan, was born on June 8, 1994, and raised in Elmwood Park, New Jersey, alongside her five siblings. Growing up in a single-parent household following the early passing of her father, Morgan found an outlet in wrestling.

She and her four older brothers even constructed a makeshift wrestling ring in their backyard, creatively using lawn chair cushions and ropes tied to chairs to bring the sport to life.

At age 19, Morgan began training at Joe Defranco’s gym in Wyckoff, New Jersey. DeFranco, a renowned trainer who worked closely with Triple H, was so struck by Morgan’s athleticism and drive that he personally reached out to WWE to land her a tryout opportunity, despite her having no prior wrestling background.

Following a successful tryout, Morgan signed with WWE in October 2014, at just 20 years old. She spent three years in NXT, initially performing under the name Marley before eventually being rebranded as Liv Morgan.

She was finally given her opportunity to shine on the main roster in November 2017, when she was called up alongside Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan to form “The Riott Squad.” However, 2022 provided Morgan’s biggest moment yet, as she won the Money in the Bank ladder match and cashed in on Ronda Rousey that same night to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Since that iconic first championship victory, Morgan has captured the Tag Team Championship four times and has held the Women’s World Championship twice.

Fast-forwarding to the present, Morgan is faced with two compelling options: either Stephanie Vaquer or Jade Cargill as her WrestleMania opponent.

Since her return from injury at Survivor Series: WarGames in November 2025, WWE has been planting seeds for a potential character shift for Morgan while revealing clear fractures within The Judgement Day. Is now the time for a dramatic Liv Morgan babyface turn that upends her faction?

With the choice looming, let’s examine the benefits of both paths and predict which champion Morgan will target at WrestleMania, and what specific creative directions WWE might take with her character along the way.
