Paths Liv Morgan Could Take on the Road to WWE WrestleMania 42

Jade Cargill

Selecting Jade Cargill for a WrestleMania 42 showdown would be a bold statement from Liv Morgan. This matchup creates a fascinating dynamic, contrasting Morgan’s unpredictable ring awareness with Cargill’s sheer strength, ensuring a main-event feel for the WWE Women’s Championship.

For starters, there is already a compelling history between Morgan and Cargill to draw from.  At the 2024 Elimination Chamber, it was Morgan who spoiled Cargill’s main roster in-ring debut by eliminating her from the match.

Further seeds were planted during the March 21, 2025, episode of SmackDown, where Morgan secured a victory over Cargill following chaotic interference from Raquel Rodriguez and Naomi, handing Cargill her first singles pinfall loss in WWE. This established rivalry provides a rich backstory that is well worth revisiting on the WrestleMania stage.

Additionally, because WWE has kept a potential Morgan-Cargill clash on the back burner, choosing this path would inject a fresh sense of unpredictability into the title picture.

While a match with Vaquer feels like the obvious choice due to The Judgement Day’s ongoing friction with her, targeting Cargill allows Morgan to finally separate her individual championship ambitions from the faction chaos that has defined her recent months.

Finally, there is another compelling reason why a showdown between Morgan and Cargill is the right move. Morgan is currently riding a massive wave of fan support, receiving babyface-like reactions every time her music hits. This popularity is the perfect contrast for Cargill, whose title reign has felt stagnant after three months without a single title defense.

She needs a top rival to make her run feel essential again. Transitioning into a high-profile feud with Morgan could provide the necessary spark to revitalize Cargill’s run and restore momentum to the championship.
