WrestleMania 39: WrestleMania Sunday Betting Odds

Cody vs Roman Reigns: WrestleMania 39 Match Graphic

WWE’s show of shows is finally here as this weekend the company will present WrestleMania 39 live from LA’s SoFi Stadium. Last night, we covered betting odds for WrestleMania Saturday and to no real surprise, all of the favorites took home the win. Tonight however, could be a little different as odds have shifted as recently as this morning.

Will all of the favorites emerge victorious on WrestleMania Sunday or will the underdogs pick up a few victories?

Let’s take one last look at the betting odds to see where things stand in advance of Sunday night’s show.

WrestleMania 39: WrestleMania Sunday Betting Odds

Undisputed WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (C) (+450) vs. Cody Rhodes (-800)

Sunday night’s main event can be compared to an NFL draft pick. The team with the first pick goes on the clock the day after the season ends and for the ensuing months, the media chatters about who the pick might be even though they and the team all know well in advance. This main event has been on the clock for an entire year. Ever since Cody Rhodes made his triumphant return to WWE to answer Seth Rollins’ open challenge at WrestleMania 38, there was no doubt what would happen next. Rhodes is a man who would be king. Perhaps it would have happened sooner than WrestleMania but an injury derailed the fairytale just a little bit. But when Rhodes returned to win the Royal Rumble, everything seemed to be falling into place. A slight Sami Zayn roadblock taken care of, the last few weeks have seen Reigns and Rhodes and Rhodes and Paul Heyman engaging in fantastic exchanges. It’s all been leading to tonight. While recent rumors have swirled suggesting Reigns may retain, last night’s tag title change seems to confirm that the Bloodline’s reign of dominance has finally reached its conclusion. Rhodes’ story has always been leading to this, to finish what his father never could. This is Rhodes’ moment and the WrestleMania Sunday betting odds are astronomically in his favor. Of course, this is pro wrestling so it shouldn’t surprise anyone if the outcome changes last minute. Perhaps the odds will mimic it. Won’t hurt to follow this one all the way up until bell time.

Raw Women’s Championship: Bianca Belair (C) (-110) vs. Asuka (-130)

This is certainly a match to follow as odds of who will win have been shifting. Belair has been the Raw Women’s Champion for exactly one calendar year as of today as she won the title from Becky Lynch at WrestleMania Saturday last year. During these last 365 days, Belair has been a fighting champion with 11 successful title defenses including once against Asuka and Lynch in a triple threat. But the Asuka Belair will be facing on Sunday is a much different woman. Asuka has turned to her darker persona, bringing with her a viciousness that WWE fans haven’t seen since her NXT days. Asuka is dangerous and should be seen as the biggest threat to Belair’s reign yet. WrestleMania Sunday betting odds favor Asuka now but they are tight. Time will tell is Belair is ready for the new Asuka or if Raw will begin Monday with a one-year celebration of the EST being on top.

Intercontinental Championship: Gunther (C) (-140) vs. Drew McIntyre (+350) vs. Sheamus (+160)

When betting odds opened, Gunther was surprisingly favored to lose his title. Since debuting as a full time member of the main roster following last year’s WrestleMania, Gunther hasn’t lost a singles match on TV and his few house show losses are largely by DQ. In June, Gunther claimed the Intercontinental Championship from Ricochet. Alongside Imperium, Gunther has been a dominant force in WWE causing trouble for anyone who dares step up to challenge him. That includes the pesky Brawling Brutes who have been feuding with Imperium for months. The partnership with Butch and Ridge Holland has reinvigorated Sheamus as has his tentative alliance with Drew McIntyre. But on Sunday night, McIntyre and Sheamus will both be angling for the same goal, winning the Intercontinental Championship. McIntyre currently has the longest WrestleMania Sunday betting odds, something that could be tied to the recent rumors that he and WWE have not yet agreed to a new contract. But whatever the case, Sunday should be quite the brawl, no matter who walks away with the title.

Hell in a Cell: Finn Balor (-120) vs. Edge (-120)

This one is interesting. Again, noting line movement, Finn Balor and Edge are now even as far as the WrestleMania Sunday betting odds. Edge has challenged Balor to bring out the Demon, and the Judgment Day member has obliged. While Balor himself has picked up his fair share of losses in WWE, the Demon is almost undefeated. WWE has done a great job protecting Balor’s alter ego and truly presenting the Demon as a wrestler different than Balor, and one meant to be feared. Edge knows how tough it is to beat the Demon so he’s countering fire with fire promising to bring out his own darker persona. Perhaps that is why the odds are so close. It seems unlikely the Demon will pick up another loss as when Reigns gave him his first and so far only loss on the main roster, it was billed as a huge deal. The Demon needs to remain protected even against a broodier Edge. Especially in an environment like Hell in a Cell, where Edge’s experience will certainly be a factor.

Brock Lesnar (-400) vs. Omos (+250)

It looks like Omos won’t get put over quite yet. While WWE seems high on the imposing giant, he isn’t the box office draw of Brock Lesnar. Lesnar can be gone for months but when he returns, it is almost always to a huge reaction. Especially now, as Lesnar is manager-less and free to cut his own promos and he his own character. It’s been a roaring success. Now, Omos will present a challenge. His size alone makes him feel like a true threat to the Beast. He will likely even get the chance to showcase that size and strength with some major power moves against Lesnar. In the end however, the Beast doesn’t take that many losses these days and tonight likely won’t change that.

Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez (+300) vs. Natalya & Shotzi (+1000) vs. Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler (-2000) vs. Sonya Deville & Chelsea Green (+1200)

There is no question where this one is headed looking at the WrestleMania Sunday betting odds. Much like night one, which offered a fun, fast-paced, showcase of tag teams, night two is set for the same. Only this time, the women will get their chance to shine. And while each duo should be expected to have their moments, it is clear the point of this showcase is to establish the new, dominant tag team of Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. It won’t be long now until the two horsewomen are taking the titles off of Lita and Becky Lynch. Sunday night will be the start of a new era of destruction. The tag division quite frankly, will never be the same but it will be for the better.
