Preview: WWE — WrestleMania 39 Sunday (4/2/23)

Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes | WrestleMania 39 Night 2

While there are two nights of WrestleMania these days, it all comes down to the main event on night two — the ultimate match of the entire show. WrestleMania 39 Night 2 not only features the biggest match of the weekend but one of the grandest matches to ever happen on “The Grandest Stage of Them All” with the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line.

The main question is this: Can the story be finished? Here’s a preview of the card for the Sunday edition of “WrestleMania Goes Hollywood.”

Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes: Time To Finish The Story

Wrestling’s biggest night plays host to wrestling’s biggest match. For Roman Reigns, it’s about keeping The Bloodline together and grabbing his next accolade of 1,000 days as world champion. But for Cody Rhodes? It’s so much more than that. Finishing the story isn’t only a catchy way for WWE to sell this match but it’s Rhodes’ entire wrestling being. When he took the chance on himself and left WWE, he knew the challenges he would face. Getting to the mountaintop of WWE was no guarantee — even if he became a star ready for such a moment. Rhodes needed to keep doing the work to finish that story he laid out to us on the Raw After WrestleMania last year. The Rhodes family has never held the WWE Championship, a title that has become the main title in America. Not Dusty, not Dustin, and not Cody.

“The American Nightmare” has to win. If he doesn’t, there’s no looking back. We’ve seen Reigns and The Bloodline become WWE’s ultimate power and maybe the most dominant faction in history. A win for Rhodes finishes that run and leaves “The American Nightmare” where he belongs and that’s on top of the world. This is the third-straight WrestleMania that Reigns will defend the Universal Championship and it’ll be one day shy of a full year that he holds the WWE Championship if Rhodes was to win. For Rhodes, it’s now or never. For WWE, it’s now or never.

“The American Nightmare” must achieve his crowning moment. A Rhodes finally a WWE World Champion. It’s time WWE becomes his kingdom.

Prediction: Cody Rhodes
