If there’s one thing that can be said about one-match episodes of ChocoPro, it’s that they never fail to deliver. ChocoPro #156 should be no different, as it features a sole six-person tag team match. It will be contested under no time limits, meaning that it can go as long as the competitors involved can endure. Furthermore, with the reigning Asia Dream Tag Team Champions involved, it’s safe to assume that it could lay the groundwork for the tag team scene in Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling to come. Here’s what to know heading into this one-match show.
ChocoPro #156 Full Card
Chris Brookes, Masahiro Takanashi, and Yuna Mizumori vs. Mei Suruga, Chie Koishikawa, and Baliyan Akki
To say that this is a unique six-person tag team match would be an understatement. One of the main reasons for this is that it features amalgamations of different duos on both sides. On one end of Ichigaya Chocolate Square will stand Chris Brookes, Masahiro Takanashi, and Yuna Mizumori. ChocoPro enthusiasts will know that Brookes and Mizumori are collectively known as TropiCalamari, competing not only in the walls of Gatoh Move but DDT Pro as well. Additionally, Brookes and Takanashi have extensive history with one another, competing side by side as Calamari Drunken Kings, or CDK. With the nefarious dominance of the vertically superior “Octopus,” the technical savvy of Gatoh Move’s “Drunken King,” and the combined strength of “Yunamon,” it’s easy to see that this is a dominant trio.
One cannot count out their opponents on ChocoPro #156, however. Mei Suruga and Baliyan Akki, or Best Bros, rule the tag team roost of Gatoh Move as the Asia Dream Tag Team Champions. “Mei-chan” and Akki have held the titles for nearly 9 months, picking up victories over Melt Brain Dancing, TropiKawaild, and other duos Gatoh Move fans will be familiar with. However, while Akki has found himself competing in more singles matches of late, Suruga reunited with Chie Koishikawa as Warm Caterpillars. Their combined exuberance and cunning have made them a formidable pair. It also made them one that viewers continue to enjoy.
Looking at the match from a broader standpoint, a victory would benefit either trio. If Brookes, Takanashi, and Mizumori win, they could be in contention for the Asia Dream Tag Team titles, no matter the combination Best Bros face off against. However, if their opponents win on ChocoPro #156, it would not only strengthen the momentum enjoyed by Best Bros but provide Koishikawa with an important victory to elevate her that much more. Regardless of the winning team, expect this contest to push all competitors involved to their limits.
