The Return of Vince McMahon to the WWE benefits AEW

Per a recent SEC Filing, it’s been revealed that Vince McMahon has forfeited 38519 shares of WWE stock at $0. The document details that this volume of stock, “consists of a portion of unvested stock units previously reported in Table I which were forfeited by Mr. McMahon in connection with his retirement from the Company effective July 22, 2022.” It’s also worth noting that, following this move, McMahon still owns 69157 shares of stock; this doesn’t include the 100 shares of Class A Common Stock owned by Linda McMahon. What to Know Regarding Latest Development

This news item is the most recent in what’s been regarded as the most talked about story in professional wrestling in some time. Following sexual misconduct and hush money payment allegations, Vince McMahon stepped away from his position as Chairman of WWE, though he temporarily remained in the company as Head of Creative. In the meanwhile, Stephanie McMahon, who had stepped down earlier in the year, returned to the company as Interim CEO and Interim Chairwoman of WWE.

However, on July 22, it was announced that McMahon had retired from the company, being relieved of all duties in the company. McMahon announced his retirement via Twitter, stating, “at 77, time for me to retire. Thank you, WWE Universe. Then. Now. Forever. Together.” WWE would follow up with an official press release confirming the news.
