Thunder Rosa Makes GCW In-Ring Debut at Fight Club in Scramble Match

GCW Fight Club has not been short on surprises. Earlier in the evening, with the assistance of Chelsea Green, Matt Cardona regained his Internet Championship from EFFY. Following intermission, the show continued with the Scramble Match, a staple of Game Changer Wrestling. What was originally a 6-person match would have one more participant announced. This was none other than Thunder Rosa, who made her GCW debut at Fight Club to a raucous ovation.

Originally, the Scramble Match at GCW Fight Club was a 6-person bout. The competitors announced for the match were Calvin TankmanBrayden LeeJimmy LloydDante LeonGringo Loco, and ASF. When Thunder Rosa made her entrance, it was confirmed, via ring announcement, that the match would be extended to 7 competitors. Rosa competed well in the match, performing a flying splash to a pile of wrestlers, as well as a diving hurricanrana on the outside. Despite Rosa’s best efforts, in addition to those of her opponents, it was Lloyd that ultimately won the Scramble Match.

What to Know About “La Mera Mera”

Contracted to All Elite Wrestling, Thunder Rosa is among the most popular women’s wrestlers in the world today. She made her professional wrestling debut in 2014 and made her mark in a number of promotions. These include, but aren’t limited to, Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling, the National Wrestling Alliance, and of course, AEW. She is perhaps best known for her unique look, featuring her iconic face paint.

Thunder Rosa achieved a number of accolades throughout her wrestling career. In TJPW, she won the International Princess Championship from Maki Itoh in January of 2020. She is also a former NWA World Women’s Champion, having held the title for 277 days. Rosa successfully defended the latter title against Allysin Kay, Melina, and several others before eventually dropping it to Serena Deeb in October of last year.
