Scotland Team News
Scott McKenna remains a doubt with a calf injury that has seen him miss the first two games of the World Cup. Aaron Hickey is out injured. Kieran Tierney should be fit after coming off against Morocco.
Head coach Steve Clarke must decide on how to approach the game. A 4-4-2 formation was used in the win over Haiti, but Clarke switched to a more defensive 4-4-1-1 formation against Morocco, where they were defeated 1-0. Scotland offered little in attack in their last game, which will have worried Clarke as it did their supporters; however, he will be aware that a draw or even a narrow defeat could be enough to see them into the knockout stages.
Ben Gannon-Doak could return to the starting lineup to give the Scots more attacking pace and flair.
Steve Clarke spoke about formations during his press conference. He said: “I’ve got the Scottish media here and they kill me for being too conservative. I think we’ve shown in my time in charge, whether some people agree or not, that we can be very flexible with our system. For the game tomorrow, we’ll have to wait and see because I don’t want to tell Carlo [Ancelotti] what we’ll do.”
Brazil Team News
Star man Neymar is available to play; however, fitting him into the team could prove difficult for head coach Carlo Ancelotti. Therefore, he is likely to start from the bench as Ancelotti keeps faith with attackers Matheus Cunha, who scored twice against Haiti, and Vinicius Jr, who has scored in both games so far. 19-year-old Rayan is likely to start on the right wing in place of the injured Raphinha.
