Scotland Predicted Lineup and Team News vs Haiti

Last Word on Football brings you the Scotland predicted lineup and latest team news ahead of their opening 2026 World Cup game against Haiti.

The Tartan Army, who are out in America in force, will be desperate for a victory in their opening game. A win may just be enough to qualify for the knockout stages for the first time ever, if other results are favourable. Anything other than three points and they face an uphill battle with Morocco and Brazil to come.

Scotland come into the game following 4-1 and 4-0 victories over Curacao and Bolivia, while Haiti beat New Zealand 4-0 but were defeated 2-1 by Peru in their two warm-up games.

Scotland Team News

Key midfielder Scott McTominay is fit and available for selection after he missed training in midweek due to a stomach upset; however, he was back on Friday, much to the delight of Scotsmen everywhere.

Scotland boss Steve Clarke, though, was eager to play down the importance of McTominay, saying: “I’ve got 26 superstars here. To try to put so much on to one person is not fair. We’ve built everything we’ve done over the last seven years on the squad, the team, everyone being together and playing their part at certain times.

“We are delighted with Scott’s abilities and what he can bring to the team. But we are going to need another 15 to bring the same if we want to have a positive tournament.”

Elsewhere, defender Scott McKenna is a major doubt, having suffered a knock and missed training on Friday. At present, he is unlikely to feature.

Clarke also has a dilemma of who will start in goal. The oldest player at the tournament, 43-year-old Craig Gordon or Angus Gunn, who has featured little for Nottingham Forest in the past 10 months.
