Harry Maguire Confirms He has Been Left Out

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire confirmed to Talk Sport that he will not be going to the World Cup. Maguire, who has 66 caps for his country and scored seven goals, has been in fine form for the Red Devils this season and believed he had done enough to be a part of the squad.

He said: “I was confident I could have played a major part this summer for my country after the season I’ve had.

“I’ve been left shocked and gutted by the decision. I wish the players all the best.”

City Ace Set to Miss Out

According to the Times, Manchester City’s Phil Foden is also likely to miss out. The 25-year-old has been an England regular for several seasons; however, he has struggled for form and game time this season as City battled Arsenal for the Premier League title.

Chelsea Star Left Out

Cole Palmer will not be going to the World Cup, according to the Express. Palmer and Chelsea have endured a tough season and could finish in a mid-table place.

The attacker, who has 14 caps for his country, has struggled for form, like his club, and has found his third season at Stamford Bridge a difficult one after two impressive campaigns in front of goal. After a poor season in the league and losing in the FA Cup final, he is now set to miss out on playing for England in football’s biggest tournament, capping off a forgettable season.
