Matchday 3 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup is the first to feature four games on the same day. The early kickoffs are Qatar vs Switzerland and Brazil vs Morocco, before Haiti and Scotland, and Australia vs Turkey round out the nightcap. As always, we have previews and predictions for every match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Qatar vs Switzerland (Saturday, June 13th in San Francisco)
A draw with Australia and a win over Jordan is how Switzerland prepared for this tournament. The UEFA side are solid and favored to top their group with Granit Xhaka leading the way. They should make relatively light work of Qatar, the previous World Cup hosts lost to Ireland and drew El Salvador to prepare for this tournament. There’s a lack of top end talent here, and Switzerland should see most of the ball as they try to find the net.
Prediction: Switzerland 3-0
Brazil vs Morocco (Saturday, June 13th in New York/New Jersey)
Brazil vs Morocco is one of the best matches of the group stage. Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil have won three straight to prepare for this tournament including wins over Panama and Egypt. Barcelona’s Raphinha carries the scoring load, while PSG veteran Marquinhos and Alisson from Liverpool are key to preventing goals. This isn’t as talented or in-form as the very best Brazil sides, and they could be forced into an attritional matchup with World Cup dark horses Morocco. Morocco is practically unbeaten over the last two years and believe they are CAF’s best side. They narrowly lost a contested AFCON final. Brahim Diaz (Real Madrid) and Achraf Hakimi (PSG) are the key men. With how solid Morocco have been as a tournament side, they should leave this game with at least a point. Prediction: 2-2 Draw
Haiti vs Scotland (Saturday, June 13th in Boston)
Two teams with fanbases that are thrilled to be in this tournament. This Haiti squad are not famous in CONCACAF but have improved a lot with players like Sunderland’s Wilson Isidor joining. They thumped New Zealand 4-0, before losing to Peru in the warm-up games.
Scotland remains the favorites however, they beat Curacao and Bolivia to warm-up, they may not be the most dynamic side offensively but having names like Scott McTominay (Napoli), and Andy Robertson (now at Tottenham) is a difference maker in a matchup like this. Steve Clarke’s men believe they will leave this game with the 3 points.
Prediction: Scotland 2-0
Australia vs Turkey (Turkiye) (Saturday June 13th in Vancouver)
Australia will be plucky underdogs when they open their World Cup against Turkey in Vancouver. The Socceroos lost to Mexico and drew Switzerland in the two warm-up games. Watford’s Nestory Irankunda is their developing star in the striker role. While Sassuolo’s Cristian Volpato switched from Italy to join this squad. Australia lack the famous talent but play bravely and won’t concede with ease.
Turkey beat Venezuela and North Macedonia to prepare after qualifying via the UEFA playoff. With Kenan Yildiz (Juventus) and Arda Guler (Real Madrid) they have two of the World Cup’s best young players. Turkey’s individual quality should shine and get them a narrow win.
Prediction: Turkey 2-1
