Wolves Looking For Leadership As Kieran Trippier Talks Begin
Trippier’s Experience Still Appeals
Despite approaching the twilight of his career, Trippier remains one of the most accomplished English full-backs of the modern era. Since returning to England with Newcastle United in 2022, he has made over 100 appearances for the club and played a major role in their return to European football. In addition, he spent Barnsley and Burnley, so he knows what to expect from the physical second division.

Known for his delivery and attacking quality from wide areas, Trippier has made 37 appearances in all competitions this season, chipping in with four assists. His set-piece quality and leadership have consistently made him a valuable asset both domestically and internationally, something Wolves are currently in dire need of. Before Newcastle, he enjoyed a successful spell with Atlético Madrid, winning the La Liga title under Diego Simeone. He also reached the Champions League final with Tottenham Hotspur in 2019 and earned 54 caps for England, memorably scoring in the 2018 FIFA World Cup semi-final against Croatia.
What Trippier Could Bring to Wolves
For Wolves, this arrival would provide far more than experience alone. Edwards’ side has struggled all season on the right side of the defence, and Trippier’s tactical awareness, crossing ability, and composure in possession could make him an ideal fit.
