Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to lose one of their most important players after Atletico Madrid agreed a deal in principle to sign Joao Gomes. According to Sky Sports News, the Spanish giants will pay a £39 million package for the Brazilian midfielder, with the transfer expected to be completed when the summer window officially opens.
Gomes is expected to say farewell to Wolves supporters during Sunday’s final game of the season against Burnley. The 25-year-old leaves Molineux after establishing himself as one of the club’s standout performers since arriving from Flamengo in January 2023.
