Ahead of the 2026/27 season, Al Hilal appears determined to compete on all fronts, with Crysencio Summerville set to join the club in a £60 million deal from West Ham. They are not stopping there, with the Saudi club aiming to make Ousmane Dembele their next statement signing.

Signing a player of Dembele’s ilk would be a huge boost for the SPL, as well as Al-Hilal. It appears initial inquiries have begun, with the Saudi giants keen to add another winger to their squad. First contacts have been made between the Saudi club and Dembele’s representatives. It remains to be seen if the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner will be keen on the move, but if the player gives the green light, Al-Hilal will open talks with Paris Saint-Germain.

Ousmane Dembele has improved immensely in recent years, which resulted in him winning the 2025 Ballon d’Or. He’s at his best with the ball at his feet, and he looks to go past the opposition, which he normally does with consummate ease. Dembele can go on the inside or outside with the ball at his feet, making him a nightmare to mark. Normally a defender can show an attacker onto their weaker foot, but that weaker foot doesn’t exist with Dembele.

Dembele is comfortable in tight spaces and can look in trouble, then suddenly be away and clear, running towards the opposition goal. He’s lightning quick, direct, but works hard for his teammates, with his exceptional vision and pressing. As his career has evolved, his end product has improved dramatically, helping him to become one of the most talented footballers on the planet.
