Fulham have reached a provisional agreement with Marco Silva to become the club’s new manager, Peter Rutzler, of The Athletic, reports.
Silva will replace Scott Parker, who left Craven Cottage earlier this week before joining Championship rivals Bournemouth.

Marco Silva: Out of Work Since Everton Exit
Former Watford and Everton boss Marco Silva has been out of work since leaving Goodison Park in December 2019.
Silva’s managerial career in England began promisingly, his Hull City side improved their output since his appointment in January 2017, though it still wasn’t enough to keep them in the Premier League. He, together with a positive addition to his CV, despite the relegation, resigned just days before joining Watford.
His time at Watford started well enough to attract the interest of Everton – the disruption caused by the Merseyside club’s interest was eventually blamed as the cause of his sacking.
In May 2018, Silva finally joined Everton. His spell did not quite work out as promised, something that has often happened for managers at Everton. For whatever reason, it didn’t go to plan. He was sacked following a 5-2 loss to city rivals Liverpool with a record that saw him lose as many games as he won with the Toffees before sensationally being replaced by Carlo Ancelotti.
Marco Silva’s break away from the game could have done the ambitious young manager some good, as Fulham will hope so.
Fulham Ambitions for the Forthcoming Campaign
Following their relegation to the Championship, Fulham are looking for an immediate return to the top-flight. Despite the eventual difficult spell at Everton, Silva remains a coach with considerable credentials and Fulham could be the place for him to unleash his potential in the English game.
Silva is no stranger to gaining promotion, having done so as a manager with Estoril Praia, as champions, from Portugal’s second division in 2011/12. Since then, he has lifted the Taca de Portugal with Sporting Lisbon in 2014/15 and the Super League in Greece with Olympiakos in 2015/16 before his move to England.
Silva finally has a genuine chance to add to his past successes with Fulham among the favourites to gain promotion in the forthcoming campaign.
