The Latest Transfer Rumours on Sadio Mane, Nathan Ake, Zlatan Ibrahimović
Sadio Mane on the Move?
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly pursuing Sadio Mane. According to France Football, via Sports Witness, Mane is being monitored by the club. In this piece, there is a claim that the interest for the player hinges on the situation with Neymar. Should he depart, this rumour of intent may actually be put into action.
Mane is a key player for Liverpool, one of three Golden Boot winners in the 2018/9 season including team-mate Mohamed Salah. During this season, he extended his contract until 2023. He is so highly valued by his club and he is having a great time in the Premier League. If he chooses to fulfil this contract, he would be 31. This is hardly retirement age, but if he is performing at his peak now, he will surely be unable to sustain his intensity in matches in a few years time. Thus, he may be persuaded to sample a new league. Despite this, he did start his career at Metz in France, so it would be a return to a bigger French club. Surely though, Mane wouldn’t be tempted to leave Liverpool with their current form.
From Bournemouth to Manchester
Nathan Ake is on Manchester City’s transfer target list. Lyall Thomas of Sky Sports News reports that despite Chelsea having a £40m buy-back clause in place, the Citizens still are eager to sign the player. There is an increased emphasis to bring in another talented centre-back. This is because there still is, and arguably still will always be, a Vincent Kompany shaped hole in the City team. Furthermore, Aymeric Laporte has suffered a long term injury. Also, City are struggling to keep up with Liverpool, and so boosting their squad now and for the future can only be a good move.
Bologna’s Transfer Activity
Premier League Strikers
According to Le Repubblica, Bologna are looking to sign Patrick Cutrone of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton’s Moise Kean. The two forwards are young and hungry goalscorers. Cutrone has scored twice in 11 appearances, including eight from the bench. This includes his recent important goal against West Ham. Team-mate Conor Coady compared the Italian striker to Raul:
“He did really well when he came on and to get that goal is huge. He took it so well – they’re so difficult for goalkeepers when they go through people’s legs.”
Meanwhile, Moise Kean is yet to score a goal for Everton who has also made 11 appearances, with nine from the bench. He is two years younger than his compatriot. It was a surprise move away from Italy to the Premier League. He could perhaps be tempted back to where he started his career.
No Plans for Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Bologna’s sporting director Walter Sabatini has ruled out any moves for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. This is according to Alec Fenn of the Daily Mail. This is due to the fact the player has already laid down his plans for his next club. AC Milan is one of the most likely destinations for the player.
Cenk Tosun Interest from Besiktas
Adam Jones and the Liverpool Echo report that Besiktas have ended their interest in Cenk Tosun. He isn’t in great form, nor is he favoured by Everton. This is reflected in his two goals in six appearances. And, at 28 years of age, Tosun will be happy to ply his trade elsewhere subject to the right club making an offer.
For now though, he remains at Everton, hoping to prove himself worthy of a place in the side.
Lyle Taylor in High Demand
Lyle Taylor is highly sought after by a string of Premier League clubs. This includes Sheffield United, Burnley and Norwich City according to Team Talk. The Charlton striker has not yet signed a new contract and will depart at the end of the season. Lee Bowyer hopes that the interest from the Premier League clubs will encourage the club to work with the player to settle on a new deal. He has scored five goals thus far, as Charlton sit 17th in the Championship table.
