If he is to play any part in this tournament, it will come at a much later stage. More recent reports indicate that Aurelien Tchouameni is also set to miss out once again, he was kept out of their second group stage game and has now got a thigh issue that will rule him out of this one.

Didier Deschamps has used a consistent 4-2-3-1 formation through the tournament. Mike Maignan has been the first-choice goalkeeper for most of qualifying and the cup games. The back four started with the strongest group of Jules Kounde, William Saliba, Dayot Upamecano, and Theo Hernandez. Lucas Digne and Maxence Lacroix rotated in during the group phase.
