England Team News
Declan Rice and Reece James are doubts for Thomas Tuchel ahead of this game. Both appeared to have suffered calf injuries, with Rice leaving the Ghana game with a strapping around his calf, and James was missing training on Thursday. Late decisions will be made on both, especially Rice, who also has a yellow card to his name and is at risk of being suspended should he receive another in the group stage
Should England have already qualified for the knockout stages, Tuchel was expected to freshen up his team; however, with England still needing a result, changes are expected to be kept to a minimum.
Marcus Rashford and Nico O’Reilly are pushing for starts, and should Rice and James be declared fit, they could be the only changes, with Anthony Gordon, who has had a poor first two games, and Djed Spence starting from the bench. Should England build a comfortable lead, then Tuchel will be tempted to replace certain players at the earliest opportunity.
