Aston Villa are looking to end their 2024/25 season on a high note following their recent win over Tottenham Hotspur by trying to seal a top-5 Premier League finish, which can help them qualify for the UEFA Champions League. They have, although, begun work on recruitment for the summer transfer window and seem to be strongly interest with Feyenoord forward Zepiqueno Redmond.

Aston Villa to Face Competition for Redmond Transfer
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Unai Emery’s side are now holding active talks to sign the 18-year-old striker and that they consider him to be a young forward with “important potential” for his future. The journalist claims that there are other English clubs as well as some teams from Italy who are interested in signing Redmond in the summer window.

Romano further states that the player is “now set to make final decisions” about his future and where he would ideally want to move to as well. The journalist claims that Aston Villa are now leading the race to sign the Dutchman and believe themselves to be in a good position to get the deal over the line. Emery’s side seem keen on getting this deal agreed quickly and beating out competition from other teams.
Who Is Zepiqueno Redmond?
Redmond came through the Feyenoord youth system after joining them at the age of 13 in 2019. He has shown promising signs of development and made his debut for the Eredivisie side earlier in the 2024/25 season. In fact, he has made nine appearances for the Dutch side across all competitions this season, scoring two goals. The 18-year-old has an even better record when it comes to performing for their youth teams.

The Dutchman scored 16 goals in 43 appearances for Feyenoord’s U18 side and 11 in 22 games for their U17 side in the past as well. His contract with the Dutch club is set to expire at the end of June (2025), and that is why Aston Villa are working hard to get a deal finalised soon. The teenager is naturally a centre-forward, but can also play on the right wing and left wing areas and his versatility are a key reason why the Premier League side are so interested, as it remains to be seen if they can get a deal done anytime soon.
